AUGUST–NOVEMBER 2024
We are delighted to share our final release for 2024 with nine new concerts.
At the heart of our program are the artists who inspire us. These discoveries happen in all sorts of places and are often outside of the major concert halls of Europe. In 2022, Alison heard Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii high up in the Swiss Alps, in a church at the Verbier Festival. His extraordinary ability to communicate was apparent from the moment he sat silently orientating himself at the keyboard. His performance was a profound listening experience, and it’s a long-held dream to share his unique musicianship with you. Trio Gaspard was another discovery who we heard for the first time in 2019 at Anthony Marwood’s festival in Peasmarsh, a village in the county of East Sussex in England.
Collaboration is also integral to our planning as without presenting partners such as the Adelaide Guitar Festival we wouldn’t be able to bring you Antoine Boyer and Yeore Kim, an extraordinary guitar-harmonica duo from Paris. Our long relationship with artists such as Umberto Clerici adds depth to the repertoire selection and this season he returns with four friends, all astonishing musicians, playing together as a quintet for the first time.
In November, we hope you will join us in honouring the Goldner String Quartet as we pay tribute to this iconic ensemble. Performing Schubert’s Death and the Maiden one last time, their farewell includes a special lunch to celebrate their magnificent achievements over thirty years.
As always, it’s a joy to share these concerts with you.
