‘I can’t take her off my jukebox’ – Mark Knopfler

From the wild west coast of Canada, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ruth Moody brings her luminous voice and evocative songs to UKARIA. She has won two JUNOS (Canada’s top music award), and as a solo artist and founding member of The Wailin’ Jennys has enthralled audiences around the world. Her collaborations with Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler have brought wider acclaim and European tours with his band.

Moody’s latest album, Wanderer, is a moving chronicle of her life over the past decade with songs that dance to themes of love, loss, and motherhood. Ultimately, they speak to a longing for home. Described as having ‘the prettiest voice in all of North Americana these days’ (HuffPost), and originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Moody has sung the span of a continent.
