Helsinki-born Olli Mustonen, revered as a leading pianist of this generation, lives an extraordinary triple life as pianist, conductor and composer and has wowed audiences from Wigmore to Carnegie Hall for decades.
In this Adelaide Festival exclusive, Mustonen draws on a lifelong connection with Beethoven’s music to perform 13 of his sublime Piano Sonatas in an intimate, weekend-long cycle at UKARIA. Beethoven’s Sonatas rank alongside Shakespeare’s Sonnets or Bach’s Cantatas as showcases of their creators’ artistic genius and personal windows into their character. This is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in Beethoven’s brilliance in the hands of one of the most in-demand concert pianists of today.
Moonlight – Concert 3 of 3
The final concert features the beloved Moonlight sonata and the profound Op. 110 – Beethoven’s penultimate sonata, written in ill health and filled with transcendent beauty.
