Over the past few years, the Australian String Quartet has championed and celebrated our nation's finest composers through their unique Australian Anthology Project. They've commissioned new quartets from Nigel Westlake, Kate Moore and James Ledger, and recorded works by Joe Chindamo, Paul Stanhope, Dr Lou Bennett AM, William Barton, Stephen Pigram, Anne Cawrse and Ross Edwards.

In 2022 the ASQ will give the premiere of Australian composer and pianist David Paterson's first String Quartet. Commissioned with the generous support of Michael Rowe and Bernard Ryan, the new work will celebrate the birthday of Patricia Davidson, one of our most loyal patrons. In the second half, the ASQ will play the first of Haydn's quartets from the great Op. 76 set – universally regarded among the greatest examples in the repertoire.

Duration | Approximately one hour without interval.
Note | Complimentary Devonshire tea will be served in the Garden Terrace prior to the concert from 9.45am.
