Estonian violinist and singer Maarja Nuut fuses hypnotic music with quirky, haunting storytelling. Her debut album of 2013 catapulted her onto the international circuit and audiences have been in her thrall ever since. ‘That’s what it sounds like when the snow sings’, writes one reviewer, while another talks of her ‘restless and inquisitive intelligence’. Baltic folk allusions, mesmerising minimalist structures and wraithlike memories spin you into another realm.
