Paul Grabowsky, James Morrison, Kram and William Barton: The Others
7:30PM
Adult $90 | Concession $85
Pre-concert dining option | Antipasti platter (from $32; serves two)
Due to popular demand, we have added a third performance on Thursday 3 July at 7.30pm.
Prepare for an extraordinary musical experience as composer and pianist Paul Grabowsky, legendary trumpeter James Morrison, Spiderbait’s iconic drummer Kram, and yidaki virtuoso and vocalist William Barton come together for a completely improvised performance.
Showcasing their ‘idiosyncratic personalities, massive musical experience and evident respect for each other’ (The Advertiser), The Others returns to UKARIA for the first time as a quartet. With William Barton recently welcomed as a permanent member of the ensemble, his masterful command of the yidaki adds a profound depth and resonance, creating a captivating fusion of styles and traditions.
‘All art is latent until the moment it is received by the viewer, listener or reader, at which point it ignites, catching fire in the atmosphere of the mind… A work is never the same twice: no matter how many times we encounter it… the artist rearranges our dreams, our deepest hopes and fears, serving up the smoke and foam of our subconscious in surprising combinations.’
– Paul Grabowsky AO
