Chamberfest (formerly UKARIA 24)
‘UKARIA has something else up its sleeve that is truly special and can only be compared with events in Europe […] its three-day cluster of exploratory concerts named UKARIA 24, in which musicians of international profile are invited in for a period residency to try out their most inventive ideas, unrestricted by the usual boundaries of concert design.’
– Graham Strahle, InDaily, 2022
UKARIA's Chamberfest – formerly known as UKARIA 24 – is our annual weekend of chamber music. Each year, an exceptional musician is given the freedom to curate the program. Often, the artist will invite collaborators from around the world to join them in their creative explorations, even across disciplines. The experience is augmented by the backdrop of UKARIA's gardens and warm hospitality, including a special lunch and dinner offering.
This page provides a platform to explore Chamberfest across the years, through details of past curators, a gallery of photos, links to each year's brochure, and reviews.
Chamberfest 25, curated by American string quartet Brooklyn Rider, is coming up on Friday 31 October–Sunday 2 November 2025. This is the first time we have invited an ensemble to fulfil the role of curator, and they have prepared a program that explores music from Bach to Bob Dylan, styles from minimalism to cabaret, topics from democracy to Dada, and collaborations from dance to the human voice.
