10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

FRIDAY 22–SUNDAY 24 AUGUST

I wanted the beauty of sound to shine above all else.

My words from the opening ceremony still ring true today. UKARIA is a place born out of a daring dream, holding music at its heart, ever evolving and expanding its boundaries to create pathways into the future.

Ulrike Klein AO, Founder

To commemorate this milestone, we are presenting three concerts which encompass the diversity of UKARIA’s programming and artistic relationships. Our Featured Artist, violinist Pekka Kuusisto, will curate the Friday and Sunday concerts in collaboration with UKARIA, while the Saturday concert will be curated by Kate Miller-Heidke and Iain Grandage. They will be joined by some of Australia’s finest musicians, and it will be an opportunity to hear almost all of our unique collection of rare and fine instruments played together for the first time.

As we’re expecting significant demand for tickets, and our auditorium is of an intimate size, we are going to be running a ballot. This is intended to be the fairest way of giving everyone a chance to apply for tickets. A ballot is not conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, and you can apply at any time during the ballot window. Entering the ballot is not a guarantee that you will then be able to purchase tickets.

All subscribers to our E-News will be given access to the ballot link, which will be open from 12 noon on Monday 12 May until 12 noon on Wednesday 14 May (ACST) – allowing a 48-hour window to sign up.

Please explore the concert details by clicking on the image tiles below, and scroll down to the Q&A for more details about the ballot process.

TICKET BALLOT FAQS

How do I enter the ballot?

First, ensure you are subscribed to UKARIA’s E-News. We will email our E-News subscriber list with a link to enter the ballot. You will need to ensure you have an account with UKARIA, and then submit your details into the form provided. The details you provide in the ballot form must match the details of your UKARIA account

To check that you are subscribed, please login to your UKARIA account using your email and password, and select 'Your Contact Preferences' in the 'Your Account' menu. From there, ensure that you are opted in to our email list – 'Yes please' should be selected underneath the email heading.

When will the ballot open?

The ballot opens on Monday 12 May at 12 noon and closes on Wednesday 14 May at 12 noon (ACST) – allowing a 48-hour window to sign up.

Once the ballot is closed, we will not be able to accept any more applications.

Can I enter the ballot for multiple concerts across the weekend?

Yes, you can register your interest for multiple concerts, however it is unlikely you will receive tickets to multiple concerts should you be successful. As we want to share the celebration with as many patrons as possible, we will be cross-checking successful applicants across concerts.

Can I enter multiple times for one concert?

Please only enter the ballot once per concert, as we will be deduplicating entries under the same email address in order to keep the process as equitable as possible.

Is there a ticket limit?

Yes – if you are successful, you will only be entitled to purchase two tickets.

When will I hear if I have been successful?

Successful applicants will be notified via email or phone between Tuesday 20Friday 30 May. You will then have 48 hours in which to make payment for tickets; once this time has passed, your tickets may be reallocated to someone else.

Unsuccessful ballot entrants will remain on the waiting list(s) for their choice of concert(s), in case last-minute seats become available closer to the time. We will contact you directly if this is the case.

Can I bring my child / children to the concert if my ballot entry is successful?

Children are welcome to attend events at UKARIA providing they hold a ticket (either student or concession price if applicable) and are appropriately supervised. Due to the expected demand for these concerts, the limit of two tickets per ballot application includes children.
