UMBERTO CLERICI WITH
THE ADELAIDE CHAMBER SINGERS

Saturday 27 April 2019  |  5PM

THE MAGIC HOUR

Sunset: Approximately 5.38pm

It is often remarked that the cello is the most human instrument: in the hands of a great artist, it becomes an inseparable part of their body, a voice for expressing emotions that have no name. In a program inspired by Easter and Anzac Day, the brooding tones of Umberto Clerici (cello) are paired with the angelic purity of the Adelaide Chamber Singers under the direction of Carl Crossin. Against the dying autumn light, soloist and choir become one, creating exquisite new timbres that allow us to reflect on life’s darkest moments, and what can sustain us through them.
