Kate Miller-Heidke exploded onto the Australian music scene in 2008 with her debut album Curiouser, which included chart-topping hits such as ‘The Last Day on Earth’ and ‘Caught in the Crowd’.

She trained as a classical singer at the Queensland Conservatorium, and recently appeared at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in The Death of Klinghoffer by John Adams. Together with her husband Keir Nuttall, Kate Miller-Heidke wrote twenty original songs for Muriel’s Wedding: The Musical. In 2015 she composed her debut opera The Rabbits (based on the book by Shaun Tan and John Marsden), commissioned by Opera Australia, which premiered at the Perth Festival. Sold out seasons in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane followed, along with four Helpmann Awards – including Best Score and Best New Australian Work.
