Music Program | Autumn–Winter 2022

WELCOME

The recent return of interstate artists to UKARIA over the past few months has kindled a growing sense of optimism that we are slowly but surely beginning to emerge into an exciting new era.

International artists are beginning to knock on our doors once again: new conversations are beginning, and new relationships are being forged. The pandemic has made us consider new ways of working which are more dynamic and responsive. A purely digital release means that we can continue to be flexible, adding additional performances when it is safe to do so.

This next season takes us through until the end of July and it gives us great pleasure to welcome back artists and ensembles – some of whom have not given a live performance for many months, and others whose previous plans with us were put on hold. 

In April we launch our inaugural A Cappella Academy, a three-year initiative which supports South Australia's rich choral tradition. We welcome Timothy Wayne-Wright, former member of The King's Singers, to lead a series of intensive masterclasses over four days that will culminate in a finale concert by four chamber choirs. We are also pleased to be part of the Adelaide Hills Wellness Wander, a new community initiative designed to enrich your mental, physical and social wellbeing.

The immediacy of live performance continues to inspire and uplift, and we're sure you'll discover something wonderful at UKARIA over the Autumn–Winter season.
